Colleen Carter, Senior Years, Secondary English, Film & Television Teacher

I’m Colleen Carter, also known as Col, and I have the privilege of joining BRIS this year as part of the High School Team teaching Secondary English and Film and Television. My husband and I have two adult children and a gorgeous spoodle named Roxy. We recently made the permanent move back home to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland to be closer to family after living away for the past 18 years. In my spare time I love spending time with family, listening to a variety of music genres and catching up with friends.

My educational background began in 1998 studying early childhood and I have continued to further my education throughout the years. In 2007 I graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and in 2013 I successfully completed a Master of Education (Specialising in Educational Technologies) at Monash University in Melbourne.

I have a real passion for discovering new learnings and challenging myself in all aspects of my life, professionally and personally. I am a dedicated educator who is committed to being a caring and compassionate mentor to those I have the honour of teaching. I’m excited for the opportunity to be welcomed into the BRIS family and looking forward to what future brings.
